Executive Master’s Degree in International Taxation

Centro de Estudios Garrigues offers tax advisers the first executive master’s degree program designed to provide a comprehensive, holistic view of the problems, methods and solutions offered by international taxation, both for Spanish investments abroad and for investments by nonresidents in Spain, without overlooking the tax harmonization arising de facto from the implementation of Community Law. The eminently practical approach taken by this executive master’s degree stems from its ties to the Advanced Diploma in International Taxation (Diploma Avanzado en Fiscalidad Internacional, DAFI) issued by the Spanish Association of Tax Advisors (AEDAF). The program will also help students obtain the Advanced Diploma in International Taxation (ADIT) issued by the Chartered Institute of Taxation.

Methodology

The program is designed to provide a balanced mix between theoretical analysis and individual or group work on real cases taken from the current business world, and aims to cater to the need for a course that is compatible with working life. With this in mind, it is offered in two complementary formats which facilitate the acquisition of skills and permit optimal use of available time.

Structure

The program content is structured around a series of areas which examine the basic aspects of international taxation in the current economic climate, analyzing the related issues, methods and solutions available and exploring optimal tax planning options for both Spanish investments abroad and investments by nonresidents in Spain, with a special focus on the impact of Community legislation on national tax systems.

Assessment

Student performance is measured using the following assessment methods:

  • Continuous assessment, based on attendance, class participation and the resolution of case studies throughout the course.
  • Evaluation of the knowledge acquired in each of the modules.
  • Presentation and defense before a panel of a final piece of individual work.

Diploma
